Yoga Therapeutics
In therapeutic yoga sessions, Rachel Teannalach, an Anusara-Inspired Yoga Instructor, works with each client to address his or her specific needs. This means that your session might include mostly bodywork, mostly yoga postures, or in most cases, some combination of the two. Unlike a massage, the sessions often require active participation on the part of the client, empowering him or her to participate in the healing process. These in depth sessions are designed to both realign your body in ways that will immediately relieve pain and tension, as well as give you the long-term tools you need to continue healing and feeling free in your body. For those free from therapeutic concerns, private sessions are a wonderful and effective way to begin or deepen a home practice, and to explore more challenging yoga postures safely. These sessions require no previous experience of yoga, only a readiness and openness to the healing process.
Rachel has been studying and practicing yoga and its therapeutic applications for more than a decade. With 700 hours of training in the methods and therapeutic application of Anusara Yoga, she has trained extensively with Anusara Yoga Founder, John Friend, as well as many other senior teachers including Sianna Sherman and Noah Maze. Rachel has trained in bodywork and therapeutic movement with Deane Juhan (author of Job’s Body), Jean Claude West, and Kim Holmes in the San Francisco Bay Area.
She is experienced working with clients ages 2-75 with everything from chronic tightness to severe knee, shoulder, foot, and spinal injuries.
